Breastfeeding and What to Expect in the First Month of Life
The first month is a very special time in your life and your baby’s life. Just like birth, breastfeeding can be very challenging but hugely rewarding for women and their partners. We will give you all the information you need not just to survive this very special time but to enjoy it. Breastfeeding is definitely a learned skill and having confidence in your own ability to feed your baby is the key to success.
This 3 hour class covers breastfeeding and newborn behaviours – what to expect from birth through to the first month of life. You will learn correct attachment and positioning skills, the physiology behind successful breastfeeding, how often your baby needs to feed and WHY, Safe sleeping, settling baby and strategies to help your new family unit enjoy this special time.
